Vernon BC Neighbourhoods - Okanagan Landing
Okanagan Landing is one of the oldest areas in Greater Vernon, established as the northern most port for the steam engines that ferried goods up and down the Lake from Penticton and Kelowna. This neighbourhood (naturally) boasts some fabulous lakeshore properties, lakeview properties, and both new and established single family homes.
Recently the area has undergone some zoning changes, as it has been identified as part of Vernon's new Waterfront Plan. In addition, approvals for higher density strata properties have made way for new housing options.
Home to Vernon's newest schools (both Clarence Fulton Secondary and Ellison Elementary) the area is great for family life. With a home in "The Landing" you truly have everything the area has to offer right at your doorstep. World class skiing and golf are within a half hour drive. The International Airport is about 40 minutes away - or.. consider the Vernon Regional airport, with expanding services! Ellison Provincial Park is just down the road for your outdoor recreation pleasure. Shops and services are only minutes away.
The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board defines the Okanagan Landing area as:
The northwest flank of the Ellison Ridge along the east shore of Okanagan Lake, including Ellison Provincial Park and Okanagan Landing to the southwest Boundary of the Old City of Vernon. Hmm. I will look to get something more specific on that.. like - a Street address as that seems a tad vague to me.
