The Vernon campus of Okanagan College offers university transfer courses in Arts and Sciences, Business programs, Health and Development programs, Trade training, upgrading, and a large number of general interest evening courses.
The Kelowna campus of the University of British Columbia is just 41 KM south of Vernon.
Amenities – Vernon Jubilee Hospital provides services to residents of the North Okanagan. Ready access to doctors, dentists, lawyers, accounts, health professionals – and most professional services are available in Vernon.
There is a local airport (charters and private planes) and easy access (35 mins) to Kelowna International Airport.
Vernon features restaurants, pubs, night clubs, and a great night life. The shopping is ample, with downtown, malls and a good selection of “big box” stores in the North end of town.
There are excellent sport and activity facilities including: the Aquatic Centre, Curling Rink, Gyms, Halina Senior Citizen's Center, and the Priest Valley Arena & Gym.
