Living at Silver Star Mountain Resort Vernon BC

The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board defines the Silver Star neighbourhood as properties only within the Silver Star Park boundaries. Silver Star Mountain Resort is located about 22 km from the City of Vernon BC, within Silver Star Provincial Park. The Resort residential and commercial areas have been removed from the Provinical Park jusrisdiction.
Silver Star began as the local ski hill in 1959 - created on the dreams and hard work of a few local families. Over the years - the terrain expanded -and in the mid 1980's a Village Core was created as the foundation for future development. At that point there was very little in the way of accomodation available - a small multi unit building "Willy's Chalets" and "The Cabin Colony" a collection of small Steiner Arch cottages perhaps 30 or so.
By the late 1980's Starbound Developments - owners of the Resort Lift company were into the real estate development business - opening up new lots at the entrance to the ski area for recreational property construction. In the 1990's the area known as "The Knoll" was developed, and the rest - as they say- is history.
Real estate opportunities at Silver Star range from small apartment condos to full blown luxury vacation homes. The resort has done an excellent job to produce properties that have easy ski in and ski out access.
With summer activities like mountain biking and hiking, Silver Star has become a year round resort - with year round residents.
