The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board defines North BX as properties up to but not including Silver Star Resort, west to Swan Lake, North to Spallumcheen and south to BX Road, excluding the Foothills area.
Named after the original BX Ranch and the Barnard Express Stagecoach that stopped there, the North BX is quite a large rural neighbourhood located to the Northeast of Greater Vernon. With a quiet relaxed country atmoshpere, it makes this a favourite neighbourhood with the convenience of the City and Silver Star Mountain mere minutes away.
If a more rural lifestyle - larger properties, or homes on small acreages appeal to you - then North BX is definitely an area to consider.
Conversely - if the thought of a long driveway in the winter makes you shudder and you are hoping to have the ability for the kids to walk home.-be prepareed. They may grow up to tell the "miles up hill in both directions" story for the most part.
