The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board defines the Foothills neighbourhood in Vernon BC as Properties in the Foothills, Country Springs and Manning Place subdivisions. The Foothills started out as "Silver Star Foothills" a development within North BX approximately 5 km from the City of Vernon BC. Infrastructure was in place for many years before housing actually took hold in this area. In the latest series of new developments and construction, the Foothills has been a popular location. Many of the homes in the Foothills are newer - built since 2000 and many since 2005. The view from these properties is a big factor in their value. Many have views of 2 - 3 of the Lakes (Okanagan, Kalamalka and Swan) and full valley vistas. There are some townhomes available in the Foothills, but for the most part the area is higher end homes on smaller, sloping lots. In addition, many of the sales in the Foothills are building lots enabling custom homes to be built on them. There are building schemes in place and development timelines may also apply. |
